SPATTER SHIELD ANTI-SPATTER DISPENSER SYSTEM These instructions provide information necessary for the safe operation of the Spatter Shield Anti-Spatter Dispenser. Do not attempt to install or operate the Dispenser until you read, understand and comply with, all safety precautions, manual instructions and other details contained in the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). Comply at all times to the safe practicesprescribed in your local statutory requirements and regulations.
1. Turn off the gas regulator valve and empty the gas lines before installation. 2. Turn off and isolate the welder’s power source from the mains supply. 3. Mount the Dispenser in a vertical and stationary position, as close as practical to the wire feed unit. A mounting bracket is provided on the Probe for this purpose. Ensure that, when mounted, the Dispenser cannot be harmed or damaged by any obstructions. 4. Cut the gas line in a convenient position AFTER the gas solenoid. Purge the gas lines and ensure that there are no blockages and that they are free from foreign matter, which may damage the unit. 5. Connect the gas inlet nozzle of the Probe to the gas line from the gas solenoid. Connect the gas line from the welding gun to the gas outlet nozzle of the Probe. Ensure direction of gas flow corresponds to arrow on probe. 6. Ensure all connections are tight and do not leak. 7. Remove the red cap from the Canister. Fill the Canister with, 300ml maximum, Spatter Shield CRC 3193 Anti-Spatter fluid. 8. To fit the Canister to the Probe, line up the Probe to the centre opening of the Canister and foam bubble breaker, and then carefully push the stem of the Probe through the foam bubble breaker. Then firmly screw the Probe to the Canister. 9. Ensure the plunger on top of the Probe is in the UP or operational position. When the plunger on top of the Probe is in the DOWN position, the shielding gas will bypass the jet of the probe and anti-spatter will not enter into the gas lines. 10. Adjust the gas regulator to set the correct flow rate at the welding gun nozzle (12 L/min – 30 L/min). DO NOT exceed a flow rate of 30 L/min. 11. Purge the system for approximately 40 ( forty) seconds to remove any air that will be in the gas lines and canister. The Dispenser is now ready for operation. 12. Prior to welding spray the weld gun nozzle and contact tip with the Spatter Shield anti-spatter fluid to give instant protection, the Spatter Shield Dispenser will then do the rest automatically. 13. The Dispenser can also be used for applications that do not require anti-spatter. Simply set the plunger is in the DOWN position and the Dispenser will be by-passed.
